After the success of our community litter pick, Wigan Scuba Divers wanted to give back to the local community in a meaningful way. In July 2024, we had the privilege of hosting a fun and educational talk for carers and volunteers at the Wigan and Leigh Carers Centre. Several of our club members, who had generously given up their free time to support Wigan and Leigh Carers, were excited to share their passion for scuba diving with those who dedicate their time to supporting others.

The talk provided an insightful introduction to the world of scuba diving, covering everything from the basics of the sport to the incredible underwater experiences that can be had. We also talked about how scuba diving can offer physical and mental benefits, helping to promote well-being and relaxation. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with local carers and volunteers, answer questions, and inspire them with the joys of the underwater world. Everyone left with a sense of excitement, and we hope to inspire some future divers or at least share a little piece of our underwater passion with those who give so much to the community.
